Prospective Nurses Visit Keewaywin First Nation

David and Allison Thompson with visitors

David and Allison Thompson recently dropped by in Keewaywin First Nation community to scout what might be their place of employment and residence. David and Allison are two nurses from Calgary Alberta who are expressing an interest in taking up nursing duties in Keewaywin.

They were impressed by the warm welcome they received from several community members and by the quietness of the area. They stated that if all goes according to plan they will be here to start their duties sometime in July 2003 and likely will stay for a year. This is good news for Keewaywin which is currently receiving nursing services from nurses who fly in from nearby Sandy Lake First Nation and a travelling nurse out of Poplar Hill First Nation.
